Luke

Luke

If Laughter Can Be Superpower, then We Are Heroes

This delayed summer performance is now providing warm laughter in winter- two consecutive days, four groups of Manzai comics, eight sketches. We invite everyone to C-LAB to experience this. View the new normal from the perspective of humor at a reasonable distance.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Manzai performers continued to create online. Through live broadcasts and videos, they tirelessly brought joy to many. Finally, they are able to appear in person at C-LAB! No matter if a seasoned fan or a curious onlooker, maintain the proper distance as you enter the post-pandemic Manzai world!

Manzai bon bon

We are Taiwan's only Japanese Manzai duo to perform in Mandarin - Manzai bon bon!

Miki Furu & Ota Takuro

We started our careers in Taiwan in April 2015.

We are comedians that have signed with the Japanese entertainment agency Yoshimoto Kogyo.

Watch as we present unique Manzai performances from the Japanese perspective.

Looking forward to your feedback! Thank you!

Co-creators & Performers / Miki Furu, Ota Takuro

Miki Furu

Miki Furu is from Osaka, Japan. Due to the prevalence of the Manzai culture there, he naturally developed an interest in it.

It’s not easy to become a successful comedian. But Miki insists on following his dream and has even undergone professional training.

Ota Takuro

Ota Takuro is from Yokohama, Japan. While watching a popular TV show in junior high school, he discovered that two people talking to one another could be very entertaining. This led to his decision to become a comedian.

For him, "being" funny is a job that he cherishes. At the age of 20, he signed with well-known Japanese entertainment agency- Yoshimoto Kogyo.

Ahoga kitakkyubin

"We are not pretending to be dumb. We are not roasting anyone."

The combination of Datsuryoku and Manzai – Ahoga kitakkyubin

Ahoga kitakkyubin is a Manzai group formed in 2020. Its members include Shong, formerly of Dacon.come, and Luke. Attempting to apply the Datsuryoku style, they create Manzai performances and comedy skits which they perform at the Two Three Comedy Club or post online.

Co-creators & Performers / Shong, Luke

Shong

Shong is a theater and film actor, puppet master, Manzai artist, and junior high school teacher. He is a core member of the Yinalang.Group and the new generation Manzai group Ahoga kitakkyubin. He loves toys and laughing, as well as exploring the relationships between objects and people and the possibilities for different comedy styles. It is his hope to bring comedy, objects, and people together. He often collaborates with Flying Group Theatre, Shiny Shoes Children's Theatre, Theatre Box Troupe, and Dacon.come.

Luke

Luke is Shong's friend and a part-time Manzai master.

He is a member of the Manzai group Man!! Otokojuku and has been involved in Schoolmates and Ahoga kitakkyubun.

[ Welcome to Funny Land ]

Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, everyone has experienced some form of upheaval in terms of relationships and distances between people. We use "humor" as an incision point to encourage interactions between performances and audiences at a new distance. In this way, a greater diversity of performing arts groups is introduced and more possibilities for performances are explored at C-LAB. These include fun themed games, magic shows, solo drag show, and shows by Manzai comedy groups that have been active on the Internet but are now appearing in person.

Originally scheduled for the summer, pandemic prevention restrictions that were in place then have since been lifted so that we can now usher in a time of exuberance. It is hoped that everyone who participates finds a familiar yet fantastical experience through their interactions with different performances and performers.

Funny Land Series includes the following programs:

Where Is Chu Wei?
If Laughter Can Be Superpower, then We Are Heroes I
If Laughter Can Be Superpower, then We Are Heroes II
Maybe a Loveable Solo- The Great Mr. Rabbit
Maybe a Loveable Solo- Unboxing The Princess
