音樂除了是不可或缺的精神食糧，也是抵抗與表態的媒介，《南部人來玩》將引介三個由台灣中南部東南亞移工組成的樂團，包括雷鬼樂團Mejikuhibiniu（印尼）、Guhit Band（菲律賓）、以及專攻龐克Oi風格的南部鬧事團SOUTHERN RIOT（印尼）。除了音樂演出，在台灣成立超過十一年的Uters Taiwan舞團（印尼），也將以三支舞邀請觀眾一起搖擺。

Uters Taiwan 舞團成立於2012年，最早由在印尼空中大學（Universitas Terbuka Taiwan）就讀的印尼移工組成，近年也開始對外招募團員。團員們利用工作之餘，學習印尼各地的傳統舞蹈，以及社群媒體上蔚為風潮的樂舞，成立至今時常受移民工社群、表演藝術活動邀請演出或帶領工作坊。舞團常利用台灣的五金百貨材料，仿製表演服與配件，創造了有別於母國的表演藝術場景。

Guhit Band是一個由台南、高雄菲律賓移工組成的雷鬼樂團。從每個週末在公園、海邊、宿舍的聚會開始，大夥兒透過口技、吉他即興，排解無聊的勞動生活，進一步透過音樂思考人生、學習雷鬼、愛與和平。

Southerners Come to Play
In addition to being indispensable spiritual nourishment, music is a medium for resistance and expression. Southerners Come to Play introduces three bands from central and southern Taiwan, comprised of Southeast Asian migrant workers: reggae bands Mejikuhibiniu (Indonesia) and Guhit Band (the Philippines) and Oi! band SOUTHERN RIOT (Indonesia). In addition, Uters Taiwan Dance Company (Indonesia), which was established in Taiwan more than 11 years ago, presents three interactive dance performances.

Uters Taiwan was founded in 2012. Initially comprised of Indonesian migrant workers who studied at Universitas Terbuka Taiwan, this dance troupe has begun open recruitment. In their spare time, members learn traditional dances from various regions of Indonesia, as well as those that have become popular on social media. This dance troupe has been invited to perform for migrant worker communities and at arts festivals, as well as to lead workshops. It often makes use of materials obtained from hardware stores in Taiwan to produce costumes and accessories, creating performances that differ from those seen in their home country.

Guhit Band

Guhit Band is a reggae band comprised of Filipino migrant workers living in Tainan and Kaohsiung. Starting from weekend gatherings in parks, along the shore, or in dormitories, they have sought to relieve the boredom of laborers via beatboxing and guitar improvisations. Through music they think about life and learn about reggae, love, and peace.
