空一格，可能是表達敬意前先吸一口氣的挪抬，也可能是檔案的遺失、被刪除、被禁止，或是為了打破常規以增加韻律與節奏的休止符，這個不明原因的斷裂或停格似乎也變成一個可以塞滿各種想像的空隙。
許多人覺得佛朗明哥藝術、西班牙文化很遙遠、充滿異國情調，但作為一位台灣籍的佛朗明哥表演者，反而常常覺得佛朗明哥很台、西班牙和我們沒差很多，因為我們在二十世紀幾乎同步經歷了獨裁統治時期，一樣經歷過被噤聲、限制的年代。

A space key – it can mark a pause, a moment to catch one's breath in remembrance. It can also signal a file that has been lost, deleted, or censored. Or perhaps it is a musical rest, interrupting the rush to create rhythm and momentum. This unexplained gap, this pause, becomes a void into which countless possibilities can be imagined.
Flamenco and Spanish culture may seem distant and exotic. Yet as a Taiwanese flamenco artist, I have come to realize that flamenco can be profoundly Taiwanese, and that Spain is not as far away as it appears. In the twentieth century, our histories unexpectedly echoed one another: both societies lived through periods of authoritarian rule, both experienced censorship and enforced silence, and both learned how memory and resistance could be carried through the body.

Born in Fengshan, Kaohsiung, Lu Lee is a flamenco artist whose practice moves between Taiwan, Japan, Spain, and beyond. Working across multiple roles as a performer, educator, researcher, creator, and producer, she explores the possibilities of flamenco as both an artistic language and a way of engaging with the world. Through flamenco, she traces connections with the past, responds to the present, and imagines possibilities for the future.
